Let me walk you through how the Fall application schedule usually works here in Korea.
When the Fall Semester Starts in Korea
In Korea, the academic year usually begins in March with the spring semester. The fall semester starts in early September.
Because of this schedule, universities open their fall admission applications several months earlier so that students have enough time to prepare documents, receive admission results, and complete the visa process.
For most universities, the application period for the fall intake happens sometime between March and May of the same year. However, every university has slightly different deadlines, so it is always important to check the official website of each school you are interested in.
Typical Application Period for Fall 2026
Based on recent admission schedules from several Korean universities, the typical timeline for Fall 2026 looks like this.
Early preparation
November 2025 to February 2026
This is when universities usually publish their official admission guidelines and application instructions.
Application period
February to April 2026 for many universities, though some may extend into May or June.
For example, Korea University plans to accept Fall 2026 undergraduate applications from March 2 to March 27, 2026.
Some graduate schools also follow a similar schedule. For instance, another Korean graduate program lists its Fall 2026 online application period between mid March and late March 2026.
Other universities may run multiple rounds. One graduate school example shows three rounds between April and June for Fall 2026 admissions. This is why students should start checking deadlines early instead of relying on a single general date.

To give you a clearer idea, here are a few real examples from Korean universities. At UNIST, the Fall 2026 undergraduate application opens December 8 2025 and closes January 23 2026.
At Korea University, the Fall 2026 application window runs from early March to late March 2026.
